I am sad to report that Steve Pettye passed away this week. He had health issues and died of complications from COVID. There will be a military service for him on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at the Houston National Cemetery.  Friends & family are asked to gather at the Veterans Funeral Service (funeral home) at 10567 Veteran's Memorial Dr. on Thursday, March 3, 2022  at 11:30A.  It is located on the corner of T.C. Jester & Veterans Memorial Dr.  All who gather will drive / ride to the Houston National Cemetery location for a 12:30P service. (FYI - There are TWO funeral homes very near the cemetery.  Phone number is 281 272-9900.)

Steve was born on July 18,1948 & died Feb, 2022 at the age of 73. He is survived by his wife, Dee, daughter, Missy, grandson, Griffyn and brother, Mike Pettye.

Steve was a long time friend of my husband, Jim.   Steve was the best man at our wedding in 1967.

This is the photo of John Gorney, Steve Pettye & James King (Waltrip '65) that was displayed at the sign-in table at Steve's "send-off" today.  He had a nice graveside military service & burial at the Houston National Cemetery.
