Bernard "B.J." Brady '65

Last Updated:    June 7, 2009

Residing In:    Elkton, TN USA

Spouse/Partner:    Susan

Occupation:    Numismatist

Children:    Kristen K. Brady, born 9/11/1971

Birthday:    August 2, 1947

Comments:    I graduated in the Waltrip class of 1965.
However, I had so many great friends in the
classes of 1966 and 1967. My younger brother
Jeff was in the 67 class until my parents moved
him and my sister Shirley to Lamar High School.

My wife Susan and I have been together since
1974 and we live in TN. Spent 12 years in
Boulder, CO and 23 years here. We love Texas,
and TN the best. They are very similar.

I am a coin dealer. Had a store in Boulder for
12 years and been working coin trade shows
twice a month since 2000. My specialty is US
gold coins dated 1795 to 1932. I am a Life
member of the American Numismatic Assn. which
is their highest honor. I am well-known for my
research into rare gold. It is my passion.
I was very active in the US Jaycees from 1974 to
1986 and am a JCI Senator-the highest award.
I keep in touch with my Waltrip friends from 1965
( and I went all the way from Kindergarden to
graduation with them). However, I have lost touch
with my debate partner - Joe Otillar, my prom
date Cindy Hobson, and my girlfriend Diana Bode
all from the class of 1967. I miss all of you.

School Story:    My favoite story would be my history teacher
Mabel Clapp. What a strange critter. Used to
give pop tests called "DYK'S", at the drop of a hat.
Strangely enough she made history my favorite
subject. My favorite teacher was Mary Louise
Barden. Hands down. Judy Kahla was a close
second.
