I remember Suzie as a red-headed spunky, high energy, livewire person who said what she thought and I admired that about her. I used to see her nearly everyday in the cafeteria because she cashiered at the snack bar. According to the Social Security Death Index, Suzie was born 27 Nov 1948 and died 21 August 1986. She married William Mike Handal 8/11/74 in Harris County, TX. They had two children, a daughter Casey Lynn in 1978 and a son Philip James in 1981.

Suzie was a real live wire. She was effervescent and always a freind to everyone. She got ill rather quickly and the cause of her death was somewhat of a mystery. There were theories that it might have been "toxic shock syndrome" as she was doing well one and day and fatally ill the next.
She was a stay at home mother and her children were her biggest joy in life.

We all remember Suzie as a full force in any group conversation. I will always remember her telling a group of us of her money freedom and economic success without any financial concerns in life at all. RIP Suzie

Susie was so outgoing & everyone knew her & her twin brother, Jimmy. She was genuinely friendly to everyone. In the late '70's & early '80's, we both lived in SW Houston & often ran into each other while shopping. Her husband was a pharmacist & she, a full time mom. When we were planning our 25th class reunion, Jimmy rode to the planning meetings with me. He was still very distraught over her death. She died from toxic shock syndrome. RIP Susie May Handal. More than likely though, she's keeping the action going in Heaven. You are still missed.

It seems Susie & Jimmie had crosses many classmates’ lives in there few years with us at Black & Waltrip. I’ll always remember Susie’s red hair walking down the hallways with that serious smile on her face or on stage in the auditorium. Jimmie was always laughing & joking around, sometimes hard to tell when he was serious, real good guy. I see them now as I knew them then, and feel they were both friends to many, raised by the finest, and are in loving hands. Thanks Carrol for bringing Susie to our attention before the 50th reunion, she would have appreciated that.
