I received word that David Alford - Waltrip Class of '68 - died on January 19, 2015 from a heart attack.  David is listed in our yearbook as a senior along with the Class of '67.  I am not sure why he graduated with the class of '68, but I have decided to include him here as one of our classmates.

David R. Alford (Dave), 65, departed this life on January 17, 2015. He was born to RV and Stacie Louise Alford in Houston, Texas. David was a graduate of Waltrip High School and of Sam Houston State University. David was married 34 years to Karen (Gray) Alford and was a wonderful father to Danny Alford, (wife Jeni), Emily Shaw (husband Matt), and Christie Fisher (husband Steven). He was also a very loving grandfather to Madison Ann Shaw and a dear brother to Kathryn Batek, William Alford and Debbie Grogg. A visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Heights Funeral Home, 1317 Heights Blvd., Houston, Texas, 77008. The funeral service will be held at 10am on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at St. Stephen's UMC, 2003 W.43rd St. Houston, Texas, 77018 with burial to follow at Rosewood Funeral Home, Humble, TX.
