Rosalia Mary Abrahams, also known as YaYa, peacefully passed away on October 13, 2023, at the age of 74 in Henley, Texas. She was born on June 26, 1949, in Houston, Texas, to her late parents, Julius P Gorney, Sr. and Clare W. Perrard Gorney. Rosalia was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Rosalia attended St. Theresa Catholic School until 8th grade and then continued her education at Hamilton Middle School and S.P. Waltrip High School. She had a diverse career, working in various positions for different businesses throughout her life. In high school, she worked at Grants in downtown Houston. Afterward, she pursued a career as a dental hygienist for Dr. Creighton, DDS. She also worked in sales at JC Penny in Northwest Mall. During her time in Austin, she worked at Dan's Hamburgers and later for an exterminator. Upon moving to Bastrop, she drove a bus for Bastrop ISD. Finally, settling in Houston after her divorce, Rosalia began her final career with Klein ISD Transportation, from which she eventually retired. Outside of her professional life, Rosalia had a passion for gardening and landscaping. She took great pride in maintaining a beautiful yard and even built a rock wall across her backyard in Henley. Every rock she picked up was carefully placed to create a stunning 2 1/2 ft tall fence. Whenever she was at home, you could always find Rosalia tending to her yard. She also enjoyed camping and traveling, spending many memorable moments at deer leases and relishing in the warmth of a campfire. Rosalia Mary Abrahams is survived by her loving husband, John Abrahams, and her children: Brent Feilds and his wife Cindy, Brian Fields and his wife Kara, and Travis Abrahams and his wife Jamie. She was a cherished grandmother to her granddaughters Brynn and Layne Fields, as well as her grandsons Koen and Kambel Abrahams. Rosalia is also survived by her sisters: Dorothea Terry, Shirley Demny/Robert, and Rita Hail/Edley (Bill), and her brothers: John Gorney/Joan, James Gorney/Rose, and Jerome Gorney. She was preceded in death by her father, Julius P Gorney, Sr., her mother, Clare W. Perrard Gorney, her brother, Julius P Gorney Jr, and her sisters, Victoria Taylor and Laura Mensik. Rosalia was also preceded in death by her first husband, Wayne Feilds. Rosalia Mary Abrahams will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her warm presence, green thumb, and zest for life will forever be remembered. May she rest in eternal peace.

Rosalia and I met our first day at Waltrip and became fast friends!  We lost and regained contact many times over the years and it was always a great connection with laughter! She was a reoccurring joy in my life!
Wishing we could visit today but I feel I have another angel in my flock! She will be missed by many! I loved her!
